This is Kathryn.
She is the Gardener at Maggie’s Manchester.
She is a Wife and Mum.
A former TV producer, Kathryn first became involved with Maggie’s in 2008 during a period of cancer treatment at The Christie.
Inspired initially by volunteering in the garden, she has subsequently studied with the RHS.

In 2018, following the retirement of the previous Maggie’s gardener, Kathryn was the perfect fit to take the helm of the Dan Pearson-designed outdoor sanctuary.
Kathryn works with a dedicated team of volunteers to provide a haven of colour, beauty and tranquility in South Manchester.

Kathryn is very clear about the therapeutic qualities of nature and being outdoors.
Like the teams at Maggie’s centers everywhere, (which are generally set in beautiful gardens), the inspirational team at the Robert Parfett Building recognise the space (whether inside or out), is providing an environment which gives all visitors the emotional break they may need.
