A Teesside-based Digital Marketing Agency have done something rather special - and important, to mark International Women’s Day. Ten schools in Normanby, Grangetown, Guisborough, Acklam, Ormesby, Middlesbrough, Norton and Stockton, have each taken delivery of a donation of books from local firm Mabo.
The hand-picked books showcase stories about Rosa Parks, Amelia Earhart, Frida Kalo and Malala Yousafzai: women who have shone a light on the importance of the female voice - and who will now hopefully continue to inspire Teesside young women and girls to do the same.
The digital marketing agency, which is made up of 42% women, (higher than the UK average of 33% for women in tech), is committed to inspiring the next generation with encouraging stories that spotlight the efforts and achievements of the most inspiring women throughout history.
Hannah Brogan, who is the Office Manager at Mabo said: “It brings me great joy to see the impact we can make when we come together. It's crucial that we invest in the education of our young women of the future and empower them with the stories of other women who have made a difference in the world. We hope that these inspirational stories will encourage the children to dream big, work hard and believe in themselves, because every child deserves the chance to succeed.”
And Justine Moralee, Headteacher from The Glebe Primary School has added: “We are so grateful for this generous donation of books to help to promote International Women’s Day this week. We have a real focus in school at present on ensuring our children have access to a range of high quality texts, both fact and fiction on lots of different topics, and these books will really add to this range.”
Mabo is a digital marketing agency that specialises in PPC, SEO, and social media management across a broad range of industries.
