Liverpool's best kept secret: 'The Secret Circus' have a rainbow-coloured spectacular planned for July 31st, as they return to Ullet Road Unitarian Church for an inclusive Pride Service and a fabulous Pride Cabaret.
Last year's event sold out in record time and if you're keen to party and worship with some kindred spirits who value 'Freedom of inquiry, Reason to argue and Tolerance'...then you better get your tickets quick!
Hosted by 'The Queen of Heartbreak'; Naffrodite - who admits to being 'The Black Sheep of the Royal family' (what - more so than the Duke of Andrew?), the day kicks off at 11am - with a Pride Sunday Service where it's possible to belt out your favourite pride bangers that you never thought you’d sing in Church.
There's also some special performances from the Liverpool Rainbow Chorus. These guys are famous across the city (and beyond) - and sing a range of styles, from camp classics right up to 4-part harmonies!
It's the perfect summer opportunity to wear your Sunday Best Rainbow outfits - and meet your local colourful community.
At 7pm there's a gear change with a Pride-themed Cabaret. There's Burlesque, Drag, Music, Poetry, Comedy, Stalls - and a Charity Raffle. All in a Church. What a novelty!
The raffle is to raise funds for Sahir House. This charity has being doing amazing work in the North West for almost forty years.
The evening line-up features 'Pretentious Dross', 'Miss Tiger Rose', 'Sue Gives a Fuck', 'Auntie Climax', 'Mr Brakedown' and 'Ellie Suter'. To help proceedings go with a swing, Secret Circus also invite you to - BRING YOUR OWN BOOZE AND FOOD!
A super-relaxed affair; Pride costume are welcome. Pyjamas are welcome. Basically - anything you feel comfortable in.
The event is for age 18+ and is Wheelchair accessible.
A Secret Circus Worshipper from 2021: "As a queer person, I never saw myself stepping foot in a church again but I felt so welcome and it was so much fun."
