The incredibly special event is a showcase of the Cabaret Artist Development Scheme curated by To Bee Productions in collaboration with Sonata Piano & Cabaret Lounge where performers have worked with industry-leading and North West based creatives to devise a short cabaret set. We aim to create a platform and network for early-career artists, offering accessible training in order to break barriers to the performing arts: particularly for those who are underrepresented and feel excluded from mainstream paths into the arts.

Artists will participate in masterclasses in Creative Writing and Acting Through Song, which are open to to the public to attend regardless of experience and background. So if you want to learn or develop your skills within storytelling through song - you NEED to get along!

This is the Place will be hosted by Jas Nisic, who is a critically acclaimed cabaret artist and founder of To Bee Productions - a Queer-led production company telling stories through the art of cabaret. To Bee Productions have hosted sell-out events across Manchester and London including at Sonata Piano & Cabaret Lounge, the Fitzgerald, and the VAULT Festival. To Bee Productions were nominated for OffFest award for Best Theatre at the 2022 Greater Manchester Fringe for their critically acclaimed cabaret which was "filled with Mancunian charm, fantastic singing and an authentic story" - North West End.

To Bee Productions are committed to ensuring a minimum of 10% of tickets will be priced as Pay What You Can, allowing those who are feeling the pinch of the cost of living crisis to enjoy an evening of cabaret. Standard tickets are £12.

Audience comments from previous cabarets:

"Fabulous evening, wonderful array of voices and an amazing cabaret to enjoy music and magnetism" - Life is a Cabaret, Sonata Piano and Cabaret Lounge

"Absolutely loved this show. Women taking control of their sexuality and power! Amazing singing and moves. LOVED IT!" - Lost in Tib Street, The Fitzgerald

"We were left absolutely mesmerised, and overcome with emotion by the end, and blown away by the incredible talent on display" - We Need To Talk, a Jazz Cabaret VAULT Festival

Reviews from previous cabarets:

"5 Stars! Her tone perfectly suits the jazz rhythms as she jumps easily from soft dulcet tones to a powerhouse belt, and she even adds a bit of scatting in for good measure. Like honey, her smooth sound doesn’t need too much vocal gymnastics to sound incredible" - North West End

"The songs are powerfully sung. All in all though it’s a very enjoyable evening with only a couple of slightly rough edges that rather fitted" - Canal St Media

"It’s funny, in-your-face and very relatable" - She-Wolf
