Frozen Peas In An Old Tin Can is a play all about Sarah, Derek and Barney who were all once complete strangers and on completely different paths in life, until they become homeless on the streets of Manchester and form an unlikely friendship.

The show looks at themes such as grief and the domino effect of that, while also taking a look at the harsh realities of being homeless. Despite all this, it is actually a comedy and the play is filled with big laughs and songs!

The show stars Will Travis (Coronation Street, This Is England, Where The Heart is) Kyle Rowe (Let the right one in- Royal Exchange, EastEnders, The Devil's Hour), Lula Marsh (Nominated for the BBC Carleton Hobbs Award), Hope Yolanda (Senses of Responsibility- Switch Mcr, Ackley Bridge).

The Cast

The play premiered in Manchester at the 2019 Greater Manchester Fringe and won 'Most innovative use of space' and was nominated for 'Best newcomer'.

The writer/director; Joseph Walsh, says, “This play has been a proper passion project and now we’re in rehearsals we’ve just found more and more stuff out about the characters and their lives now, and before. I think if the play makes you smile or say hello next time you see a homeless person, then it’s done it’s bit!”

Joseph adds “The play is also really affordable with regular tickets at £7, and unwaged tickets at £2. We’re also gonna be collecting for Homeless Aid UK during the run which is a brilliant charity doing great work in our community and beyond”

The Arts Council England funded production is at The Way Theatre in Leigh from the 3rd-7th May and tickets can be found HERE
