Billed as 'The Blues Brothers meets Charlie's Angels' our favourite queer-led GM theatre company Rocket Whip - famed for bringing adventurous, original and comedic work to the stage - are set to make any self-respecting Cleric blush this summer with their 'Ass-Kicking Rock Musical - Nuns of Fury'

The company return to next month's Greater Manchester Fringe with their rock/gospel/musical extravaganza. The Nuns of Fury are a trio of righteous ass-kickers, plundering relics in the name of the Lord! But have these holy hell kittens met their match? The Nuns are about to meet their greatest challenge yet, facing evil, loose morals, and their own demons.

Audiences are being urged to join the Nuns and everyone's favourite gadgeteer Father Q as they pit SISTERHOOD against VILLAINY - the most important commandment? Faith in yourself!

Comically Catholic characters in their rocking gospel missions are promised, with guns and guitar solos blazing. Sisterhood shines through as they defend themselves from the characterful henchman stitching them up while they also face private battles. Will Sister Agnes be able to keep her team together? Will Sister Gabriel, left at the nunnery as a baby, be able to find her real mother? Will eight-and-a-half-months pregnant martial arts expert Sister Julian finally learn what that whole “chastity” thing was supposed to be about? There’s only one way to find out!

Liv Burton, Writer of Nuns of Fury said: “Our fourth original comedy musical is breaking through the fourth wall with fists full of rosary beads. Join us for a fun-filled night of prayer, praise and power chords at The Fitzgerald, where you can pick up a flaming nun cocktail to boot!” (Sweet Jesu.)

Nuns of Fury is at The Fitzgerald on July 17, 18 and 20. Running time: 2hrs (including interval). Age restriction: 13+
