We love biscuits at Mag North - but especially Cookies - and we also adore Stained Glass, so any opportunity to combine the two (and there aren't many)…we'll be there - and you can be too!
This Sunday there is a very special chance to head along to Manchester Jewish Museum and join in with baking some delicious, crunchy stained-glass cookies, inspired by the beautiful windows of the historic Sephardi synagogue.
On the First and Last Sunday of the every month, there's lots of hands-on crafting and baking fun - and the workshops are open to all age groups. Children must be supervised by an adult - and the creative team can't wait to welcome everyone. All sessions are drop-in, so you are welcome to pop along whenever suits you.
During each “Make It” session, you'll have the opportunity to try a different food, music or craft-based activity, inspired by the museum’s collection. You can roll up your sleeves and relax your mind as you bake, write, paint and get creative together!
The 6 August session is inspired by the historic synagogue’s beautiful stained-glass windows. Heading along is a must - to explore their rich colours and fascinating patterns and learn about the stories they illustrate. Workshop participants will also be look at how the windows connected to the local Sephardi community in days past.
Inspired by these stories, it will then be time to bake some delicious stained-glass window cookies using all-vegan ingredients. This is the chance to awaken your inner baker, as you create your own cookie patterns and designs.
No cooking or baking experience necessary, beginners and seasoned pros are welcome!
